La Rolling Stone elige los 100 mejores discos de metal de todos los tiempos

Un ejercicio tan complejo como entretenido es el que se despachó la revista Rolling Stone, quienes han publicado una gruesa lista con los 100 mejores álbumes de metal de todos los tiempos, según su línea editorial.

Y claro, al hacer este tipo de ejercicio y al momento de seleccionar los álbumes, la primera pregunta que cae es: ¿Qué definimos por metal? Al menos en su elección la opción recayó en una universalidad que incluye discos como «Blackout’ de Scorpions, el homónimo de Body Count, el debut de Korn , «Aenima» de Tool o «Pyromania» de Def Leppard, apuntando a discos que han inspirado al riff metalero y al peso en las guitarras en desmedro de ser álbumes de metal puro y duro propiamente tal.

Por supuesto que nombres clave como «Reign in Blood» de Slayer, «Vulgar Display of Power» de Pantera y «Master of Puppets» de Metallica no podían faltar, aunque también hay curiosas elecciones como posicionar al debut de Iron Maiden por sobre otros más clásicos de la banda o “Peace Sells… But Who’s Buying?” de Megadeth por sobre «Rust in Peace»., entre otras elecciones.
